Macronutrients

There are three types of macronutrients, they are protein, fats and carbohydrates. Each one of the macronutrients are very important in any diet and all play an important part for your body.
Protein is important for your muscles and in order for your muscles to become strong and to function properly. Protein is made up of amino acids. The way protein helps your body is that is repairs muscle tissue and if you work out like you would if you play football, then you would need protein to help repair the muscle tissue that you broke down by lifting. Proteins also helps regulate your bodies process by transporting nutrients and helps to make your muscles contract which is good when you are doing activities.
Fats are important for your body. Some fats are bad but there are also good fats that you need. The bad fats that you should try to avoid are trans fat and saturated fat. The fats that are good for you and that you need to have are unsaturated fats. There are two types of unsaturated fats, polyunsaturated and monounsaturated. The things that are good about those two fats are that monounsaturated helps to increase HDL which is the good type of cholesterol. Monounsaturated also can cut down the level of triglycerides.  If you don't have fats then your body can't survive because it won't have any protection against the world. In football, fats are important because for an athlete it is necessary to have a little fat that is healthy.
Carbohydrates are very important in any diet but especially in a football athlete's diet. Carbs give the energy that is needed to do well on a football field and to continue at a high level and not have your body get burnt out.
